The Age of Pied Pipers
Protecting YOUR Inner Child (Creativity)
What is this NEED to advise everybody on current events/issues really all about? Why is it, a great many so-called “influencers” feel the urge to inform/lead the rest of us as to what our worldviews should be, as if we needed their advice? From the politicians, to the academicians, to the new-agers/theologians—and even to the communists/leftists/anarchists and revolutionaries, everybody peddles their wares in the social media town square, hoping you’ll buy into their views of what the “best earth” should be. “Follow us, and we’ll bring you heaven.” “We will make things better.” We’re ALL in this TOGETHER.” “Protest with us against. . .” Follow the “fill in the blank.” “Agree with us and you’re in.” And if you don’t, then we’ll make sure your children do!
It’s all so repetitive and tiresome anymore. And this is where your unique creativity may truly become the literal “armor of God”—a buffer between you and the piper’s “world-at-large.”
When in the high inspiration of spirit—your spirit, one simply hasn’t the time for lecturing his fellows nor being “lectured to.” Is it any wonder why good literature, art, music, sculpture, architecture and movies have withered on the vine? The followers have always been many, the Creators too few. “Follow your bliss” it’s been said by many a “self-made” master. And for me, that has proven the best strategy in my 50+ years on this earth for navigating this ever changing world of endless “expert” opinions whose flutes play such tiresome jingles. It’s never ALWAYS dark and conversely, never ALWAYS bright. But the one constant, if there be one, is your OWN inner Light. For you alone are the guardian of THAT citadel—to grow it immensely or further shroud its undiscovered brilliance. Freewill—YOUR choice and nobody else, is the foundation to your own freedom (physical, mental, emotional and spiritual). It is what makes you whole or can simultaneously tear you apart. This reflection is perfect whether or not you choose to SEE it (cause and effect).
I’ve been disappointed many times in my life, but not from following my heart’s calling to create. Only from the dissatisfaction of relying on others to form my views of this world for me, which in turn was but a “faux independence.” In my early 40’s, I learned to rely only upon myself for my unique worldview, not to shun reality as it were, but to embrace it as the ever-creating canvas of which I am the primary artist—whose brush strokes paint the living colors of my own personal life—in tune with a purposeful and harmonious morally natural universe. No longer would I allow others to define my capabilities/limitations based on their “views” of the world. You see, I had realized that reality itself, as Nature teaches, is the ACTUAL canvas upon which my mind may paint lines of Light or lines of darkness. I chose to use my own set of brushes and never looked back. I hold the exclusive rights to my own “self-definition.” I am “piper-proof.” When YOUR life becomes precious to you, from the internal awareness that only a “conscience” may apprehend, you will no longer seek for external “rings” of power. Your still small voice alone leads.
Everybody has a canvas, the world included. The power of meaning lies in making your life your own—your worldviews, only yours. This “self-portrait” has only one master. And I embrace it fully or not at all—from my alliances to my enemies, if I have them, I shall be the sole executor of my own will and state (being).
People commit suicide daily. They repeatedly kill their own inspiration and creativity by shaping themselves to fit the already dead views of a world gone insane—whose masses follow the pied pipers of antiquity. The only children who could not follow the piper were those blinded by the Light of the Spirit within, made deaf by the loudness of the universal symphony or hindered by the use of their own limbs in the creative process of self-expression. This is precisely what it means to “turn and become like children” to enter heaven. For to live an authentic, inspiring and original life is to never exceedingly stare into another’s canvas (abyss)—the world included. For what you long gaze upon can unwittingly become your own world, which is but a simulacrum of experience vicariously lived through the eyes (worldview) of another.

Well said brother. Yes indeed the sublime seductive pull of the pipper's empty promise. "We are the borge." Would be the audio translation of a pair of They Live ear buds! The Chicken Little brigade won't know what to do with any who pick up on your message. How do you corral the idividuated soul into his unique cave of selfhood. Doesn't happen. Can't happen. And that is all the defense one needs.
My grandfather's advice to people was always to follow you bliss.
